Easter, 2014

Easter is one of the most significant days of the year to a Christian, such as myself. To be able to take time and recognise the enormous sacrifice Jesus made for us all on this day, followed by the miracle of his resurrection, which signifies the eternal life we can have through Him.

This year was particularly important for me as it was the first Easter I celebrated as a true follower of Jesus. It was also a wonderful opportunity to spend time with the ones I love most - my Family.

Here are some shots I grabbed whilst camping with the family this Easter out at Jackadgery, NSW. 

"Priceless" (film)

From the moment Alan handed me the script to this film, I fell in love with the story and was so eager to begin production.

Unfortunately, due to a few changes in circumstances, the production of this film had to be put on hold... until now that is.

To get me hyped-up and motivated again to complete this ambitious project, I have put together some screenshots and posters (yes, even a trailer) to show you all.

Please support me in getting this project finished (not asking for money or funds, just need you guys to share it around with your friends online).

I would love to see this project completed and sitting on my DVD shelf, and hopefully in time to enter it into the 2014 Short Sharp Film Fest.

Anyway, here are a few things we have been working on. Hope you like them.

This is our second Director/Actor project together, and our first Director/Writer project! He is awesome to work with, and I hope to keep making films with Alan for many years to come.

Okay, so maybe not the James Marsden (from X-Men), but I can honestly say that he is one of the most enjoyable actors I have ever worked with, and hopefully there will be more projects for James and I to work on together in the future, because it has been a pleasure working with him on this.

Gold Coast City

Nothing beats sitting in the sand at dusk taking photos and watching the sun set and the lights slowly turn on across the cityscape. I'm sure in time I will get sick of the city lifestyle, but for now I'm living it and making the most of it! Here are some shots I experimented with recently. Some beautiful colours around dusk, and I feel very privileged to have captured them in this way.

I know these are some cliche pictures, but I have such a passion for animals and they are definitely my favourite subject to shoot (with a camera that is). Also, starting next week I get to work alongside these awesome creatures in the park up here on the Gold Coast.

Nostalgic Grabs

This album begins today, the 18th of March, 2014, and will be a place where I put all my favourite nostalgic pieces. I'll try and caption each of them to explain a little about them...

These are the books that I try to look at each day. The top one has changed my life and inspires me to write/notate within the bottom one.
Psalm 104:33 says: "I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being."
Music truly is a gift descended from the Heaven's and songs are a symbol of praise and thanksgiving. Everyday I am thankful that I can write music and be surrounded by wonderful notes that my Lord has gifted to me.

The lost kite. A bit of colour added to the pure-blue backdrop of today's beautiful weather in The Gold Coast. I found it fascinating.

Again, music is a passion of mine and I couldn't resist capturing this pic. Experimented with a few textures on this one as well. Love the cardboard texture of the cover of this book and the gloss of the keys beneath it.

of the 651 DVD's I own (to date), I consider this to be the shelf in my collection that I refer to the most. From classics such as, Titanic and The Shawshank Redemption, to the fantasy series of Harry Potter and The Lord Of The Rings, I would argue that these are some of the greatest films of all time!

Family, Summer 2014

It has been a while since my last post, but a lot has been changing in my life, so now that I have come back I would like to make this post about the ones I miss the most: my family.

    This little guy, my Godson and nephew, I had the privilege to watch him grow day-by-day into the handsome little man he is becoming. Not a day went by that he didn't have something to tell me, and I will always make time to listen to him. Unfortunately I can't be in his life the way that I was but nothing will change the fact that he is my nephew and I love him.

    Possibly the cheekiest little lady I have ever met, but that just becomes one of the many reasons I love her. I can't get over the fact of how much she has grown and never a day goes by that I don't wish that I could be a bigger part of her life.

    Eight months old today, this little gem has never failed to make me smile, and always has a smile for me in return. I had the greatest privilege to share a home with her from the day she was born and I will always be so thankful for that, to watch her grow everyday into the gorgeous little lady she is. The only regret is not being there with her still.

    The youngest addition to the family (to date) but definitely not any less important! From the day he was born, this little man has been carefully protected by his two older sisters - and I'm sure this love and affection will only grow stronger as his life progresses. Only the youngest born son with older sisters can understand how sacred this protection is, and I am honoured to share that experience with this little guy. And if his sisters are anything like mine, he will live such a beautiful life.

    The oldest and the wisest (maybe even the bossiest ^), this young lady was the first to teach me what it means to be an uncle. She has a heart of gold for her two younger siblings and loves her little cousins just as much. I will never forget the day that I held her for the first time as an infant. And like now, I was a long way away from seeing her when she was born, but my love for her will never see distance, it will only grow stronger!

    

    No matter how far away my family seems at times, my love for each of them will never diminish. The truth is that no matter where I am in the world or who I become, they will always be my family and no one can ever change that. Everyday I am thankful for each of them and I will never forget how important each is to me.
